Our network – and how it benefits you
The economy is changing rapidly in times of digitalization and globalization, which presents major challenges for supervisory board members. Strong ties to colleagues at home and abroad and close collaboration are more important than ever.
We are a strong community and provide our members with a steady, enriching exchange of experiences. This occurs at our events, but also through access to a unique global network of more than 150,000 supervisory board members and non-executive directors from around the world. VARD is the exclusive representative for German supervisory board members in the European Confederation of Directors Associations (ecoDa) and the Global Network of Director Institutes (GNDI).
Participate in ecoDa working groups on European corporate governance subjects, expanding your knowledge and network to the European level.
GNDI offers VARD members a GLOBAL PASSPORT, allowing guest privileges at all member organizations around the world as well as the opportunity to utilize several advantages and offers.
As a VARD member, if you are ever in need of information or contacts abroad, our office is happy to help.
Learn more about our partner organizations ecoDa and GNDI:
ecoDa, the European umbrella organization in Brussels, is an alliance of 14 director and supervisory board member associations, such as the British “Institute of Directors” and the “Institut Francais des Administrateurs.” ecoDa represents more than 55,000 directors in the European Union. Current corporate governance issues are discussed and carried forward in working groups. Through direct contact with European institutions, ecoDa provides a voice for its member groups in Brussels and promotes corporate governance.
GNDI is a network of 16 director institutes from around the world, representing a total of 100,000 directors. GNDI represents the interests of directors from around the globe, giving its members a powerful voice. GNDI promotes cooperation among its members to strengthen their influence. Training and continuing education of directors is an important element of the GNDI network. We are proud to be part of this network since 2015 and to give German supervisory board members representation at the global level.
